I have to disagree Jules, Dike was an impact player, he could change a game with his power and ability to score goals whilst Pines role is to become a defensive rock , to compare the players and their impact on the team is like comparing chalk and cheese , the issues around Pines are brought about by the physical side of the EFL and his list of injuries suggest he has a problem, overcome these problems and I feel we have a very decent defender at this level who also can be a big asset in the offensive form, he scores goals from set pieces and is a real handful for the opponents to mark thus creating opportunities for others in and around the box in set plays , I think patience is the key a bit like Anderson when he came to us, he had a very poor first season but went on to become a fine defender who since ended up playing in the premier league , lets hope the same happens with Pines.

Comparing Donovan C Pines with Mads Andersen could be a bit of a stretch Shads.

The then 21 year old Andersen's early time here was in a very inexperienced side alongside Bambo Diaby as part of "the best transfer window in the history of BFC" ( Mr P Conway) for a reported £900K.

Donovan C Pines is at the peak of his development at 26 years old arriving as a free agent after failing to secure a place in a USA club roster.
I think he has found his level as a hairy-arsed Third Division beast.

Yep - I agree with that.
It would be great to have a fully fit Dike in this team now.
He’d rip this league apart.
I still think the goal he scored at the Well against Birmingham is the best I’ve seen at Oakwell.

Exactly , it was Jules who brought up the comparison but as I have tried to point out in my not too eloquent fashion I do believe they are totally different players and so are their roles plus, Dike has that touch more quality , the one thing they do have in common is that although they are physically big units they have both been unlucky with injuries , Dike is a proven championship player and one day hopefully Pines will be as well .
