I couldnt get to see the game today (had to be in Kyrenia). from what i understand first the selection was a typical JG ****show and he is again reverting to a negative intention without the spine to support it.
Also the team in general seemed to start ok, but there was a crowd event which destroyed what little confidence there was.
I hope the SFA SPFL UEFA or whoever fines the arse off them and starts to be serious about discipline.
I hope JG is not considering Paton for another season
Paton seems a nice guy from his DUTV but he just has not delivered at all. His shots are really weak and often just trundle to the keeper
Jort VDS is under contract next year and I think he is a better option - as well as Moult being better before the end of the season
I'm not sure the team selection was the main reason we lost
It was what 2-3 player different than expected
The first half hour was fine, then Dalby lost a header to scales and the ball hits off strains shin and into the net
Celtic more than capable of an onslaught but we started the better team until the first interruption, were on the front foot, fans were behind the team, after the interruption they took over and we were containing them fine until the opening goal
The killer was losing another soon after then not getting to half time at just the two
I just hope they retain that intensity in their other games
The first half hour gives me plenty hope for Easter road
Clearly he didn't think he was playing a weakened defence yesterday, he's obviously looked at Sjvells performance against Ross County and thought he would be more mobile against nippy forwards than Gallagher. It wasn't exactly a negative line up either. Problem is we gave away soft goals and they were clinical. I wouldn't have started him but I actually thought Campbell was ok, Paton unfortunately works hard but offers little, his shooting is absolute powder puff. Managers always have player biases. Who can forget Neilson returning bombscare Connolly to our defence after Watson and Reynolds had struck up a great partnership and got loads of shut outs. Minute Connolly comes back we start shipping goals again.
