Optimists only...

Even though we lost on Saturday, I do not think that changes the main aim of tomorrow too wildly.

If we had won 1-0 or drawn, we would have still aimed to go to Wimbledon and win. We lost 1-0. So we still need to win.

Obviously no my having McGoldrick and Jatta is a massive blow, but we are not playing Barcelona.

We created multiple goal scoring openings on Saturday, dominated the ball and conceded a goal we could easily cut out. If we would have won 4-1 on Saturday, no objective observer could really argue we were not worth it. That should give us huge confidence.

They know what they need to do. Time to show us how good we all know they can be.

I think Grant will play and score. He was unlucky. The chance where he sublimely dinked it over the keeper with the outside of his right foot would usually be a goal 9 times out of 10.

You may be correct in saying we haven't been 'doing it" for weeks. Walsall haven't been doing it for months. But, here's what I like about football. One goal on Saturday. We've got a chance.

At least I know what a Gloomster is now.

Yeah, and will we be OK keeping Maynard, he'll turn it round? Is that the 'optimistic' view or the head in the sand view? A realist would say he has to go, and that would also be the optimistic view, because you know we can only improve with a better manager.

I'm not buying into seeing Notts as a basket case who should be grateful just to survive in League 2 as optimistic. It's as miserable as sin.

The reality is that there are certain posters who would happily watch 11 black and white traffic cones amble around the pitch without question or comment.

This thread is a perfect example of that and it is that woolly thinking which is holding the club back.

More controversially, In the season Matty Palmer hasn't, done enough for me. Also, as much as I've loved McGoldrick's swan song..I wouldn't offer him another contract. Purely, as he's going to get increasingly injured.
In the end, Lanstaff wasn't adequately replaced.

This forum is quite sensible in its football opinions at least. The pro Maynard lads, fewer in number though they might be now do come up with much more insufferable bolox elsewhere.

As depressing at it is (for me at least) I don't think the club is being held back, we are exactly where the owners want to be.
