He'll drop down league by league. Someone in League 1 will take a punt, likely someone who's just gone up. If he doesn't deliver, he'll be on a Jan loan somewhere in League 2.

McGoldrick already turned down big money to rejoin Notts, not sure MK Dons have anything to give him that would lure him away. I can see him retiring if he doesn't sign a new contract

I have this vision where DM becomes player coach and drops into the midfield playmaker role. Strutting his stuff playing cheeky channel balls to inside forwards or spraying crossfield balls to wingers. A couple of enforcers either side of him and he would pull all the strings.
