1977/78. I was being semi-flippant alluding to practically every male pupil suddenly becoming a Fword fanatic almost overnight.

oh! yah, not just at school but most of my extended family got infected by that one too. Interestingly, none of them of them follow footie at all now, forst cured them of that!, except my uncle who has been going to Notts. Wouldn't call him a fan though.
think they call what we've got ptsd these days and give you magic mushrooms and molly for it, but I'm not sure it would be enough.
The Netherlands have gone back into lockdown today where they have a vaccination rate of 85%, reported on the beeb, and delta remains the dominant variant, which has been kicking around for some time. It would be difficult to blame their wave on the new variant or the unvaxxed.
I'm personally double vaxxed, and had Covid (about 2 months after 2nd dose, resulting in Spanish quarantine!). Also have my booster booked for just after Christmas. Seeing what's happening, one has to question the efficacy of the vaccines, surely? A year ago, the vaccines were promoted as the way out, but here we are 12 months on staring down the barrel of more of the same.
I look at the effect the last 18 months has had on my nearest and dearest. Thankfully despite a few infections, including my father in law having a very close brush with ventilation, everyone is well. But, my youngest is struggling at school which he wasn't before, my parents who were actively social have become hermits and my once outgoing sister in law is an anxious wreck who won't see anyone. I've personally had enormous struggles mentally. Our successful family business of nearly 40 years hangs in the balance.
I don't believe in the big conspiracies as I think it's too far fetched to believe these plots can be hatched between so many people without a whistle-blower. I think the reality is probably far less sinister and is simply incompetence in government. I don't proclaim to have the answers but I can categorically say that nothing we've tried, including vaccines, has worked.
It's quite the coincidence isn't it that so many countries are reverting to type, Germany, Austria and Italy being the most keen on total control by all means necessary, Australia - as Clive James once said - a nation of prison guards as well as convicts and the USA's love for segregation (starting last year with blacks and whites being separated in the name of 'safe spaces'). Britain for a time had sympathy with Nazism in some quarters (including the royal family) before realising that it wasn't the way to go, perhaps we are in that process now. I very much hope so.
Anybody who holds the view that people should be forced to take an experimental vaccine is potentially a very dangerous and disturbed individual IMHO. Could be that Klopp's completely ignorant of the risks and (at least to some degree) its ineffectiveness, but him being so deeply involved in football I doubt it. His single minded personality obviously helps make him a great football manager, but in this case yes he is coming across as a bit of a Nazi. Personally, I'd prefer "fascist" but those that describe him as a Nazi I understand perfectly well what they are getting at.
