I think the Covid pandemic saved him. He was struggling last season and our football went from a bad enough watch to nearly impossible to watch. He has been given a lifeline so he will have to make the most of it as I am sure our new board won’t quite be as forgiving as the old one. We as a club are looking for improvement on and off the field....McInnes will be doing well to survive the season ahead.
In saying that and I genuinely mean this....I hope he proves me wrong and implements this so called new brand of exciting football our chairman spoke of. McInnes is on a hiding to nothing as if he doesn’t implement this style then our chairman will look a right chump by not axing him.
I see De Boer got the punt at Atlanta for his poor performances...since we have a strong Atlanta link through our board I wouldn’t expect Del to receive special preferential treatment. He will be axed if he doesn’t produce.
