You'd hope Notts would back themselves not to concede c600 runs in a day/ bowl out Durham (with only 10 fit batsmen) to be outright Champions rather than win it on a technicality

Batting on seems totally pointless. The bowlers would only have time for four six over bursts today, then a full day tomorrow weather permitting.
Yes, very strange not enforcing the follow on. We have sufficient runs already. The spectators certainly weren’t impressed!
Awful decision they bowled less than 60 overs first innings Durham only have 10 fit players there was no way Notts would bat again not enough time left for Durham to get the required runs to make a game of it
I really don’t get how people can criticise the decision to bat on. For me it was obvious once the only way we couldn’t win the title is if we lost. Batting on 100% guaranteed that. Batting on ensured no silly injuries to bowlers. Did we win the title? Yep. Job done and the players could relax and enjoy it.
There was absolutely zero chance of us losing if we had enforced the follow on. Durham were never going to score the 450 runs to avoid an innings defeat and then build a sufficient lead to bowl us out in less than two days. Batting on didn’t ensure we wouldn’t lose, we’d already done that. If time had been lost to the weather it might have prevented us winning though. I know we didn’t need to win, but why risk settling for a draw when a victory was highly likely?
It looks like it won’t matter anyway, but the decision to bat again was a strange one.
It would be interesting to hear the club's take on it. The only reason I can think is to give the bowlers some rest as we only have three seam bowlers.
Durham 99 for 8 only need another 478 good job Notts batted again instead of forcing the follow on
