Match Thread vs. Leicester City 09.07.22 [PSF]

Well when I first saw this fixture I wasn't too keen seeing us run around trying to get the ball but we were better than I thought.
The first eleven were a good match for a reasonably experienced Leicester team, with the stand out players being Nemane, Mitchell, Palmer and Rodders.
Second eleven had the easier of the opposition and scored what, on balance , was a fair reflection.
We were a bit tippy tippy at the back after that which put us under pressure.
Overall that was a good afternoon's work and whilst still early days the signs are good.

Again, nice to win. Not getting carried with friendlies, especially given it was a very youthful Leicester team. I think playing these kind of sides suits us more than being bombarded by long ball and physicality.
That said, some really positive performances. The style of play is very mixed. Some ball retention when needed, some direct and a passage of 1 touch football just before the changes where Kairo nearly knocked home.
All in all not much to grumble about. You pies

An enjoyable watch and some promising signs. Got a bit sloppy last 15 minutes but defended pretty well, overall.
However, can we defend a long throw into the box against 6, six foot six opponents on a bumpy pitch? Only time will tell.

A great workout for all involved....loved how the 2 young wide lads in the 2nd half looked to attack their man as soon as they received the ball....also good to hear our manager bawling out instructions throughout the game!

For me best players in last two matches are Slocombe looks confident in command. Bajrami strong, assured good ball control. Rowling, strong speedy good height. Baldwin class act and good goal. Mitchell lots of running, desire and holding ball up well. Roberts tricky, hungry looks up for it. Palmer looks assured bossing midfield. Rawlinson the surprise as thought he might be the forgotten man but has played well, looked sharp and some great passing. Nemane has been fabulous, speed, trickery, causing havoc and almost always beating his man.

Top 10 prem league? Ptfffff, we pished em............. :D

Was on my way to Norfolk so missed the game. Sounds like we did ok, appreciate all the posts on this thread, helps to build a picture. Does anyone know if the match will be available to watch again ? YouTube maybe?

If you go on Leicesters you tube page it's on there as live but if you click on it and rewind it to before kick off then it's still showing the game.
