We've had a few strikers since then who were as good, if not better than Williamson at that level, good player though.
In his movement and finishing Williamson always reminded me of Jimmy Greaves, who seemed to glide over the turf. Yes, we have had some good strikers since then but I can't think of many in the same mould.
When did Joe McBride leave? bout 84 & with George Kerr manager Gerry Forrest leaving year after until Ronnie Moore became manager 1st time I was still going but I call them my lost years 85 to 97 I didn't have much enthusiasm for the millers during thar time so can't remember much about Williamson or when Warney played for us. Was more into horseracing then. Ronnie Moore 1st time as manager got me back into it I could see progress then & ever since been something to play for nearly every season. Even now we have enough players worth going to see.
