Possibly the best performance from Notts in the national league today, Solihull had the odd half chance but it was men vs boys... only drawback is we could of battered them with better finishes but who cares... 6 games in and only Notts and Chesterfield are unbeaten... shows how close this league will be this season, brilliant stuff
We currently have the best goal difference in the league.
The clean sheet and the 1-0 wins titles and that was without doubt the hardest fought 1-0 win you’ll see and was thoroughly deserved. To a man they all worked incredibly hard and the new signings like Langstaff, Austin, Bajrami have got the tenancy work rate and hunger and desire to close players down but also create and make things happen. They’ve brought something that was missing.
We’ve also got the ability to create chances and really good openings. Lots more balls into the box and over the top for the front men to run onto.
On another day it could have quire easily have been 4 or 5 nil and that’s no exaggeration. It bodes well if we can produce that standard going forward. Other teams may not be so fortunate and would end up on the end of a thrashing.
A mention to Bajrami who was a rock in front of the defence. Solid dependant and physical and did the basics of tidying up well, winning everything in the air and protecting the back line. Also looked to play nice 5-10 yard passes in midfield. A man of the match performance for me.
A good bank holiday weekend and with three wins and three draws we are on course for 2ppg. So a really good start to the season, especially having played three of the top six.
Luke sounds very pleased indeed and rightly so.
Well done to him, this is now an impressive opening set of results.
Ardley should feel embarrassed after that. Backed heavily by Solihull, he has one of the best squads in the league and that's the garbage he can come up with? Time wasting from the start, telling his players to go down so he could bark orders. I even saw him bickering with the officials. It's like he was trying to be a Steve Evans clone. Thank god he's no longer part of this club.
Our 4-1 win at Halifax looks even better now that they just beat Scunny 2-0 away
