No self-respecting manager/coach would attend a press conference and publicly bad-mouth a player to the extent of accusing them of a bad attitude. Matters such as those get sorted out behind closed doors. Farke chose to raise the subject only because of "intervention" not by the player but his father (a notable influence in a major player agent company). He need not have done so. By choosing to add fuel to the oxygen of publicity he has made matters considerably worse, and his decision today to exclude Cresswell even from the bench shows his immaturity and how he can be both petulant and childish in both actions and words.
The player has remained silent on the issue, despite being excluded from todays line-up, observing a mature silence his coach could learn from.
Evidence of attitude? Take the last 48 hours as such. Whose is right, whose is wrong/bad? I have my view.
Not arguing whether Farke was right or wrong to air his views...but that is a side issue to whether Cresswell's attitude is actually okay. You wanted proof from Joel that it wasn't. Where is your proof that it is all okay? Are you involved in the inner sanctum of the club regarding his training performances etc.? If so, fill us all in please. Not saying you are wrong...but give us the lay down if you are sure you are right.
No, it's not a "side issue". The psychological state (and stability) of the coach/manager is absolutely fundamental as to the suitability and soundness of his judgements, and if Der Fuhrer considers it acceptable to come out and publicly bad-mouth one of his aspiring youth team players (stress, YOUTH team player), then his suitability to foster any of the younger players has to be questioned (and his decision to send Spence back to Spurs would suggest he extends that attitude to the more "established" 1st team players). Cresswells performances are a matter of public record, both before, during and after his loan spell at Millwall, as are the assessments of those involved in his coaching throughout.
To answer your question, I'm not involved in any "inner sanctum" discussions, and neither should anyone else outside those who belong to the playing staff and their coaches, no-one else. I know what I have seen and heard, and I know who appears to behaving like an adult, and who like a child.
Farke is known to be stubborn (not alway bad I accept).
Cresswell has had glowing reports from every coach pre Farke and has often captained teams.
Millwall coaching team praised his attitude. Leeds players in previous seasons have praised his approach.
His dad Richard was a well respected professional and the agency he part owns is also noted for being sensible.
There is also the fact Farke doesn’t bring through many young players (beyond Gray) - the others (such as Summerville, Gnonto, Meslier and Rutter) already established first team pros before Farke.
If you listen to the journalists and podcast, Athletic articles there seems to be surprise at lack of game time for Cresswell and others.
I accept unless you are a fly on the wall you will never know but Farke publically slaughtered Cresswell who himself has been silent.
Forget Farke for just a moment. Stop rambling about whether he is right or wrong. IS Cresswell training the house down? And IS his attitude 100% spot on to what is required? You are defending him on what Farke is doing at present...but can't prove whether there is any blame on him whatsoever!
There is no suggestion from anyone that Cresswell isn’t training well. All that has been said publically by Farke is that when he has been on the bench he hasn’t been happy about it - ffs - surely that is what a coach wants from players. Instead Farke says this means he isn’t mentally ready which in turn sets all sorts of hares running.
wat planet are you on? What planet are you on? "Forget Farke for just a moment"???????? No-one BUT Der Fuhrer has suggested that Cresswell ISN'T a suitable 1st team player, so how on earth can you take HIS (Der Fuhrers) opinion, out of the equation? NO-ONE ELSE COUNTS!!!!!
Everyone else who has had the ability to witness Cresswells performances has complimented him, not only on his ability as a player, but also his ability to shift psychologically in order to match the requirements of various modes of playing style. I'm most certainly NOT "defending" anyone, including Cresswell. I'm contrasting the childish, petulant and inappropriate actions and performance as coach//manager by Der Fuhrer with that of his junior, who has maintained a discreet and mature silence on the matter. I'm not into any "blame game", I'm wanting to see suitable performance and in this matter, Der Fuhrer is sadly lacking
Understand all that Hope...and some question marks for sure over Farke's handling of him. But even though his attitude at Millwall was commendable, if he has been dropped to number 4 on the list here, maybe his attitude on the park has dropped off?? Just saying it could be a two way street that's all.
Not saying to put Farke comments aside...but again, you have deflected about the attitude of the bloke in question...Cresswell. 100% sure he isn't kicking the bucket around to some degree?? I don't know...and neither is anyone else sure. Only guided by what you are hearing in media.
At least Hope tried to be civil with his response...unlike your usual personal rant including I'm from a different planet. Enjoy....
