We can all trade anecdotes. I could tell you about my family members who work in the UK in highly regulated industries. One of the companies involved has stopped trying to export into the EU and has set up a site in Holland instead. The second (an American company) is closing it's UK sites entirely and moving it's European operations to Spain.

If temperatures are around 0 degrees for 7 days headline says pensioners in those areas get a 25 pounds automatic payment but then underneath looking like it says those who didn't get the winter fuel allowance won't get it. What a joke if those who get everything don't pay the full amount on utility bills will work out they are better off when everything's taken into account than some of the pensioners who aren't on credits etc...
