Spot on, Magyar. As long as I've been a Miller we've always had a reputation for grit and determination, for hard work, fighting spirit and a never-say-die attitude It was how we balanced the books, how we compensated for shortfalls. If that's 'the Rotherham way' then I've been proud to witness it as the club epitomised the community I was born into. We were all in it together. Obviously, times and attitudes change, I accept that but this season there's been precious little of anything, determination, hard work, quality or skill. Especially for we old-timers that's what's been so very hard to take, why we've been so frustrated. If we're going to lose, if we're going down, let's at least do so fighting not meekly waving a white flag. It's not 'the Rotherham way'.
My sentiments too Leeds. And now surprise surprise we're getting quotes from players at holiday camp Rotherham Utd about how great it is to work with Warne !!
I where you are coming from, saying the Rotherham way, whatever that is,but football as changed enormously these past few years, unfortunately grit determination and hard work,is not enough these days, not in the Championship anyway, players are to clever now,and find away through you,in the first half against Brighton they went toe to toe with us,and we looked fairly comfortable, but in the second half they just kept the ball, and we had no answer to them.
I completely agree with you dmentor, this is such a tough league for a team with our obvious limitations.
I wasn't necessarily thinking it would work as a tactic to keep us up, but, it's a hard watch when you know you're just not good enough.
Now that the inevitable is almost is upon us though, for me personally it would just help a bit if you came away thinking the team were giving there all.
It feels difficult for me commenting on games, because I go to so few, unlike many on here who've had to endure a lot worse than I have this season.(That is down to work though, not out of choice)
