If we’re winning games, I think the attendances should be OK. Orient are averaging 5,000 this season, Chesterfield similar. The problem will come if we struggle like Chesterfield did earlier this season.
Looking at Notts players who dropped into the Conference in January, none have exactly set it alight. Turley rarely gets a game at Orient, Hawkridge is often a sub at Solihull and Crawford is back on the bench at Fylde after a run in the team.
Look on the bright side - lots of new places for groundhoppers to visit.
Feeling positive today - "we ain't going down" :)
What you all forget is that apart from a few kids every other player under contract will be asked to try and find another club as I believe our wage bill will have to be reduced by probably 75%
Just imagine the quality we will be bringing in...
Its not going to be much fun in the 5th tier that is for sure.
Still it gives us chance to clear the deadwood out as some say & then replace them with even worse deadwood.
The real bonus is the price freeze on the season tickets the club tweeting that as though its a right treat.
I just excited now about Notts being in the National league, cant wait for the fixture list to come out. I am especially looking forward to the trip to Boreham Wood lol. After all we have had months now to prepare for the nightmare that will soon begin, as Notts are banished from the football league
Seems like it really was a sunset glow against Coventry when 17500 were there, and the higher leagues awaited
johnny, you just haven't got a clue what will have to be done, nor have I. Your 75% is simply a figure plucked out of thin air.
Speculation about who we will have get rid of because of their wage is nonsense. A new owner isn't going to get rid of so-and-so who earns £X because he knows an agent who knows of someone who's really cheap - he has no class - but he's really cheap, so he'll do. Now, who's next? Errr... you and, err - him - and him - and wotsisname over there! There's a bit more saved. Right, get rid of anyone else who's not on basic wage and we're off to Aldi.
I presume the new owner/s will want to acheive promotion as soon as possible and they aren't going to do that by rating new and existing players by cost. I'm not saying the wage bill ought to be ignored, we know money doesn't neccessarily buy success, but you will only get mediocrity if cheapness is to be considered before quality. Besides, we don't know if the new owner/s will be happy to "consolidate" (where have I heard that before?) or want an immediate impact. They could be trophy chasers wanting fame or prefer to sit quietly in the background.
In the words of the late Patrick Moore "We just don't know!".
Correct. Little jonny has a history of posting ridiculous figures with no foundation at all. I know this for a fact because one of his pretend stats was that "on average four horses per year die in the Grand National", when the true average was less than one. He frequently posts a load of bollox and hopes nobody will notice.
The bad news is that I fear his prediction of relegation will be one of very few that he actually gets right.
