We lost a game of football we should have won.
Before their one effort on goal we could have been 2 up and on another day we would have been.
Only their guy stood in no mans land not marking anyone cleared Woottons header and 9 times out of 10 the keeper doesn’t save the Dennis effort or at least parry’s it out to another player.
Get a grip guys
That's exactly what concerns some of us. There is no way we should have got nothing against a side who played as badly as Chesterfield played, but nothing is what we got.Quote:

Was a huge improvement on the Barnet game I saw.But Ardley's tippy tappy possession football is not for the Conference. we made hard work of the game by making passes at the back & midfield that ended up putting pressure on players. We have pace up front & need to get the ball out from the back quicker,be a bit more direct.
Ardley is slowly getting us there but that's the trouble - SLOWLY. Two steps forward, one step back. You're right KC, a decent coach would make this team feared and always on the front foot but opposition coaches know too well how fragile we can be.Quote:

We basically played with six outfield players behind the ball yesterday.
On another day, Dennis would have scored his chance and we'd have won the game easily. Chesterfield didn't look like they had another gear to go into. They were honestly one of the worst teams I've seen us play against. On that point, was it me or did the commentary team seem to be biased in favour of Chesterfield? One of them was praising their commitment and organisation. To me they just looked awful and only came away with points because we were ****e in the final third. If that's the level of opposition in this league, there can be no excuses for not mounting a promotion push this season.
Big result needed on Tuesday.
As disappointing as yesterday’s result was it is worth noting that despite the dodgy start to this season Notts currently have the best defence in the league based on goals conceded. On goals scored we are 8th best which depicts our league position.
I wasn’t able to watch the game yesterday as travelling back from holiday but reading comments on here it looks like we were lacking in the final third. Whether that is down to poor finishing or a lack of creativity I have no idea.
Ive just checked and we had 15 attempts on goal, 6 on target compared to 5 faced from Chesterfield, 3 of which were on target. We had more dangerous attacks and twice as many corners which again would indicate an inability to convert scoring opportunities.
Like I said I wasn’t there so can’t comment on performance but the stats would suggest we should have won comfortably.
We gifted them the goal, to be marking a man, then back off the way Notts did was shocking. Teams will love to play Notts if that is how Ardley wants to play out from the back,no pressure on the opposition just pressure on Notts for no reasonQuote:
