They finished top. That shows that it can happen, but not that it will happen.
Do you think Ardley will do what Evatt did at Barrow last season?

The crap defence is what Ardley has signed. He can't organise the ones he picks per game and now he's moaning to the FA that the poor dears won't know what to expect from an attack from a team third from bottom. I don't actually want Notts to lose again but if we do it may bring the day of Ardley's departure that bit closer.
Law or averages say no, though city aren’t top, neither are Liverpool and neither do I have expect Evatt to do anything this season. What I do HOPE is 90% of the squad from last season sort themselves out, Doyle and O’Brien are only 6 months older and surely haven’t declined that much, reeves is 100% better footballer than Rose but as much as I didn’t like him technically, he had an influence. The biggest worry for me we haven’t replaced Dennis. Summed up the squad / team is 90% the same as last as last season. Wot bewilders me regardless of wotever reason none of the players get any grief, as Roy Keane said, Ferguson rarely motivated the he team, it was on the players. Sacking Ardley will do nothing, they just need to sort themselves, I went to Hartlepool away last season and we were absolutely awful, then we turned it around, there comes a point as players when yer sick of playing crap and hopefully that happens sooner than later.
Barrow lost to Wrexham, Harrogate, Stockport and Halifax in their first seven games. We've lost to Dover, Maidenhead and Aldershot in our first seven.
Also Barrow went on a remarkable run after their early season slump they won seven in a row and only lost once in 23 games to Torquay.
It's possible for us to emulate that of course but which each passing game it puts more and more pressure on us to go on such a run and beat the stronger teams. The teams in this league are not going to wait around for us to get our act together.
Besides we are dropping too many points that is the concern after the hour mark. Dover 1 point lost, Maidenhead 3 points lost from a winning position and Halifax 2 points lost from a winning position. That's not what promotion teams or title winning teams do. That's six points we have thrown away in seven games. We would be up there with the pace setters on 16 points by now. That's where we should be.
The fact of the matter is if you want to get automatically promoted out of this league then you can't afford to lose no more than 10 games and that is a very maximum because in the last five years only Barnet went up automatically with 10 defeats because they did not draw many. They won 28 and drew 8.
At the other end of the scale Cheltenham only lost 5 games all season the year after and went up automatically.
You've got to be really good all the time at this level to get automatic promotion and can't keep having off days like we have been in the early part of the season.
Let's face it this season is becoming a strange one because of the covid virus.
Players getting infected and because of playing 2 or 3 times a week also there are plenty more injuries.
Playing at home is not an advantage any more you only have to look at results and the tables.
Arsenal, Man City and United in the bottom half, Saints next to the top, Liverpool losing half their key men to injury.
Mind you it makes games more interesting. Just hope it is just a blip Notts have had and can get back to winning ways this afternoon.
I will be watching it.
It's certainly a very weird season from NL to PL. I don't like it, and that has nothing to do with Notts' struggles so far.
