Oh yes he can!
Let me give you an example. Under23s were playing Bristol City in their final game. Morris, Bell and Lunt. plus the days manager and 8 other coaches were there. From the start we were totally outplayed After 10 minutes the manager must have realised it was so bad he came and sat behind our 3 bosses looking for advice . Sitting 15` away it appeared he did no get what he was looking for. In the 1st half he returned twice more, but nothing changed. The 1st half ended and all the coaches went off I suppose to give the players a pep talk.
I thought they must bring on subs for the 2nd half. In truth we were so bad it would have needed at least 7 subs to make a difference. They will also change the tactics and be more competitive. Out they came for the 2nd half and no subs. Game started and it was a repeat of the 1st half. When City walked through our defence and scored their fourth goal I was so angry and shouted at the coaches saying `that is absolutely awful, you should be ashamed putting on a display like that. They all turned and looked at me in shock. I could imagine what they were thinking, probably not a regular Crewe supporter. They are all good little sheep who quietly accept any rubbish we put in front of them.
Gazan I will give you a good example of the standard of our lower level coaches. I am confident that in your ever so righteous way you will justify. For the whole of the match one ever so witty coach decided that it would be appropiate for him to to be the lead comedian for the day and tell his 3 fellow coaches jokes which they all appreciated and had a good laugh and a great time. May I remind you during that game they were representing CAFC and were being paid by the club for their apparent expertise. During all of this Morris, Bell , and Lunt were completely aware of the comedians behavior and they saw nothing wrong with it. A final small point the comedian and his 3 mates were openly behaving in that manner in front of the supporters who were also contributing to their pay. Respect for the club and its supporters NONE, not a single drop, and they did not give a toss about the teams woeful displaye
I think there are 1 or 2 on this Forum that would acknowledge that I have savagely attacked various parts of the club in the past 12 months, I think the academy model does need some change, I also think that it will have times when the talent is just not simply there on the flip side of that we will get some periods when there will be a number of talented players at our disposal and I think Morris will benefit from that very situation in the coming couple of years yes there are players currently at the club and bizarrely playing that ought not to be but I am confident they will find themselves out of the first team plans during this season and certainly next. Of the 9 first year pros I certainly think 6 of them have plenty of ability and when we add experience to that they will be seriously talented group. Having seen the last couple of games I think there is a cause for optimism however we do still need 3 maybe 4 more players to come in as we look a little short in certain areas.
Wow Wartman, the voice of reason and dare I say it, a hint of optimism. I love it.
Luckour has just seen an under 23 game with ALL the coaches sitting there and were totally useless as seemingly was the team. Yes give AM and his team of three a chance to improve the team but the club sticking with the status quo is a mistake that very few clubs follow. Fans need to remember that in ten years the academy cost the club 7.6 MILLION pounds and with no gurantee one player would be good enough for the fourth division and certainly not good enough for the PL where it was intended to sell them for millions.. How many good players could we sign for that sort of money?
For goodness sake Mike you are an armchair critic, come and watch a game, I know you have problems but you cannot criticise the latest batch of youth players or the system without seeing them
I tell you that here are the economics of signing 'good' players. Year 1 we sign a player, signing on fee £250,000 plus £7k per week for 2 years (yes this is the sort of money they are asking) now 5 of them ie 2 years times 5 = your ten years at a cost of £10.8m and would those 5 players make a real difference on their own?
And there was me thinking Wartman and Luckour were one and the same. Every day’s a school day.
I see the O/S has finally acknowledged, that as you've been telling us, Gazan, we're playing Lommel, behind closed doors, at Loughborough. Good thing it's for Wednesday not today! At last a chance for Colkett and Thomas to get a run out, even though not for us to see them.
Looks like Sang, (not Snag as auto-correct wanted to make him!), having kept appearing, may have gone now as he didn't appear against WBA and Murph may be being seen as a backup midfield option. May know by Saturday whether they can sign Brook for the season.
