LW may well be an upgrade on IB, but at the moment it looks like he'll have to work with a weaker squad.

As things stand then yes quite possibly based predominately on unknown quality vs known quality (2 of our better players). The #radar has been a clear upgrade in terms of recruitment, as a result I now have greater confidence in all signings across the board knowing full well in football more fail than succeed. That has always been the case.
With Wootton always going to depart it looks like we've rightly gone down a different path in terms of approach/type of forward brought in. That's the correct decision for me because we were going to struggle more to replace Woots than Cal IMO.
If LW is a big upgrade on IB as we all hope then this will more than offset a weaker perceived playing squad. It is always the most important piece of recruitment a club makes.
Wootton is going to be a bigger loss than people realise he scored 20 goals and was never injured.
Roberts is one of our better players but better players always will have more options to move.
All this talk of blaming the owners "model" is daft if we had what you would call traditional owners your best players would still be sold as that is how it is at all levels.
I don’t think we need to replace Cals position as it looks like wingbacks again or wide midfielders with defensive duties which neither are probably Cals strongest position. My priority would be a left sided player that can get forward and we need a decent CM, if Notts can bring in 2 quality players in these areas I would be a lot more confident, seems clear they are thinking the same too which is a good sign.
I’ve literally no idea if we are going to come 1st or 10th this season, we need a decent performance tonight, a battering so close to the start of the season I think would be very detrimental at this stage.
Exactly, the only club perhaps not in that bracket is Wrexham as if you’re going to sign players in their late 20s early 30s and stick them on 5k a week on a 3 year deal, absolutely nobody is going to go for them and their not going to leave anyway as they can’t get the wages elsewhere.
We have lost nearly 50% of goals from last season, got to hope Langstaff and Scott are fully firing
Inevitable with the last year on his deal. He's wanted to go for a while. Would rather he left than Reuben. Mainly as we have struggled to fit Cal into our system to get the best out of him.
Him being sold makes it easier rather than shoehorning him into a system to the detriment of the team and also him. He served us well and lit up Meadow Lane on numerous occasions. Time for players like Nemane to take the opportunity and stake a claim.
Well it was a figure I saw, 75k plus 75k add ons, sounds plausible as many deals are structured with add ons and with a year left on his contract the general consensus seems to be we think we’ve got over 100k, maybe it’s wrong how it’s structured but it’s seems pretty close overall to what seems likely.
I’m not posting it because I’m unhappy with Cal going or the owners strategy but kind of feels, well at least to me a bit deflating. We’ve lost a player in my eyes could command 300k plus and we’re left with a incoming fee where we probably can’t bring in a guaranteed player of his ability.
