I think you're allowed to think it but I'm no longer sure about the second part. It's not Tarmac though so you're probably OK ;)

Is it just an optical illusion, or is there quite a slope down from the pitch surface to the advertising boards? Which could be a bit dangerous?

For years there was a slope before Hardy did a half heart pitch reconstruction that took off a few inches

It's to combat the long throw specialists >;) It does look quite a slope, the pitch looks like it's about a foot up from the bottom of the advertising boards :O When they mentioned astro-turf I assumed they ment green not black.
