How Billy ?

Structure a team to its available abilities - both physical & mental skills.

Up to players in 'match-time' to control match flow, momentum & turning performance into points.

Fair point in that changes can affect the flow of a match too - but my point is the calibre of player we have do not consistently have a significant impact on the final result whoever is in charge.

Anyone on here is a liar if they cannot sense when spectating when things are going against us - even before Farkes appointment.

Even Bielsa could only do so much, so as ever better recruitment helps, at a cost admittedly

So obviously any Coach is the target but in reality its also players, backroom staff, team owners & even sponsors clout that can provide remedies for suffering fans.

Bielsa gave the club an identity & made it a destination for players who wanted to improve themselves - my current point is that as a team individual poor performances are down to certain players not knowing mentally how to challenge their own fears & grow as individuals.

Nobody can take away what a player has got in himself but for some their potential has been reached & it shows, imo.
Farke has improved certain players but not sure that he can get certain players into a consistent level to perform to their highest individual ability.
When he did was not able to retain such talent as the Board saw & acted on the increased value obtainable to them option.

So Farkes abilities to build players hope, optimism & confidence for me 'aint the issue as he sets clear goals for individuals within the team squad - the players have to take responsibility is my take.

Farke certainly lets 'em know individually about their accountability with clear set targets - which is not obviously done publicly via his media duties, which is obviously correct into helping greater squad cohesion overall which is essential.

All footballers talk within their personal niche group circles 'tho about matters but its only their agents who talk publicly when matters come to a head, the latter is apparently not the case yet I hear.

Don?t disagree but not sure he is. The comparison with Bielsa is a little wide of the mark for me. Bielsa didn?t so much improve players as transform some of them.

Klich, Dallas, Phillips, Cooper, Alioski, Ayling etc went from being players in some cases we thought weren?t good enough for the championship to playing well in the Prem. god he even got a tune out of Bamford and made him better. He wasn?t really supported in the way Farke had been in either the EFL (or the prem in the end).

Part of the problem is the expectation levels of the fans but also Farke is a decent manager but he isn?t great and a lot of grumbles from former teams and players suggest he has one way of playing and if you fall out with him at all you are done. Look at both Cresswell but also Spence who now plays regularly for Spurs.

We are good enough to go up, doesn?t mean we will. If we scrape it then maybe the board will thank Farke and then upgrade.

He is not in the same league metaphorically as a lot of the young managers who kept promoted teams up.

If Ipswich go down and we go up, McKenna would be an excellent choice.

2/3 of the season to go so suspect we will go up automatically are the trend of our point ts per game is going up but also sure it won?t all be plain sailing.

Be as interested to see who leaves in January as much as who comes in.

Farke in PL ?
On present assessment then no for me too.
With better players then why not.

Farke a decent Manager ?
Yes from me concurred by all his roles behind the scenes & he gets the Leeds-thing ethos very well around the club, city & fans too.

Farke as a great Coach ?
With better players who knows, as hes done well with the better ones he has had in English football - hence my 'reached their potential' level comment on a few of ours now.
Not sure what indeed could be Farkes potential level if fully backed in a PL return 'tho.

Cresswell ?
Other issues to consider with him other than pure footballing ones - after a dodgy start in France still hit & miss with performances average stat of 6.8 for the 11 games hes started in.

DJ Spence form now ?
His injury hampered his 7 game Leeds stay & not great at Genoa after in his 16 games resulted in his option to buy fee 8.5m not pursued, but to be fair his new Spurs Coach needs to assess him too I believe. Only played 4 in PL & 1 in EFL this season, so time will tell.

Farke fell out with a fair few players at Norwich too including our weekend nemesis Todd Cantwell and Russell Martin.

Agree the squad needs a big overhaul if we go up and want to stay there.

Ben Godfrey, Jamal Lewis, Max Aarons, Todd Cantwell, Josh Murphy & Andrew Omobamidele the ROI defender at Forest all did ok under his guidance at Norwich since 2017 & to be fair he helped James Maddison too develop.

Yeah not sure what it is about him but something grates - not helped by forking out a fair chunk of cash for the play off final when we predictably didn?t turn up.

He also really frustrates me with how little game time players in the wider squad get - think that is just bad management on many levels.

Fully expect us to still be in the mix after the Xmas pile up of fixtures but with this squad we should be clear at the top by at least 5 or 6 points.

Away form is poor , we were fortunate to collect 3 pts at Swansea in truth but when you look at the sides that have turned us over away from home it really isn't good enough.

Obvious stated but we need a striker in the Jan TW.

If we had a decent finisher, the discussion on Farke wouldn't even be happening on here. Trust me. As Andy said, we would be 6 or 7 points clear! Does Farke want one as well?? Probably....but for mine the blame at present lies with the 49ers. They are the ones that will ultimately say yes or no to this. Let's see how serious they really are about promotion come January...
Hope, if that scenario with Ipswich happened, McKenna would cop the same treatment on here if we didn't win every game and were 10 points clear! It's what we do best. We're only singing when we're winning.....Very little gets said after we win.

Farke is a solid coach. The problem is that he seems to be at his max. He really has not developed his coaching style to adapt with the game which is not static. A lot of coaches have this issue. What works in one game, season or squad doesn?t continue to work.

Spaldy, I have always agreed that I don't believe Farke is as good as we could get...but seriously, if some fecker started putting the ball in the net like we should be, it would be us first and daylight second! Agree? Surely that part of the game isn't his fault from the bench? And then there wouldn't be any need to adapt anything! Tactics are only mentioned when we don't win I notice. Suddenly his tactics are okay when we win and everyone jovial on here...
