Football used to be a simple game. Essentially it still is, score more than the oppostion.

Eastleigh stats now up including a head scratching xG for the visitors ...

70% possession is impressive, and I have to say, it's generally more positive possession than we used to have under Neal Ardley. Everything's that little bit quicker (than under NA) and we look to pass forward more often, although I'd still like to see our wide players take on their defender and beat them more regularly, rather than tap the ball back. Can't complain about the entertainment value overall though; it's some of the best football I've seen at Meadow Lane in many years.
If you thought Eastleigh's xG was unreal, wait until you see Notts' xG after Halifax . . .

Must admit that I base my opinions and posts on here more on what I see with my own eyes than any xG stats, but we seem to agree a lot lately.
I can't remember any run of three home games ever in over 50 years where we have been so dominant and faced so little attacking threat. Against Barnet, Eastleigh and Halifax we should have taken 9 points and improved our goal difference by around +12. Instead we took 7 points and improved our goal difference by +7. We're good, but not good enough to be promoted in my opinion. Something is missing.
Stats report for the Woking game now up. Another 'nice' read and some xG data that suggests Notts may just have turned a corner and at just the right time for a promotion run in.

The Key Match Stats chart visually illustrates our dominate at Woking nicely for all those who didn't see it with their own eyes.
