If Courts is hired this week it's for one reason and one reason only - we are skint, totally skint.
I'm not buying into this bull5hit that Courts is the best man to get the best out of the young lads. He's getting the job because he's the cheapest option because we're financially fkd..........or we hire McInnes and I'm proven totally wrong :s
He did say it. The context of how he said it can be interpreted a few different ways. I believe in the conversation it was a "i dont care what you did in the 80s, i care about making us successful now" (not exact quotes) which you could argue is the right attitude to have so as to not get blinded by chasing the glory days that will NEVER be repeated. It read awfully though.
Sadly have to agree. I don't think his name would have been mentioned if it wasn't the case. This time last year we were after (supposedly) McClaren and Mackay who both would have commanded decent wages/budget. We then went and paid compensation for a manager who was in work.
Fast forward a year, We have a few quality candidates out of work who would be better choices and wouldn't be that hard to convince to come to Tannadice but instead we are going down the experiment route with someone currently at the club. It smacks of being skint and hoping to get lucky. Yes the Pandemic has caused financial problems but surely we could still attract a decent standard of experienced manager who wouldn't need a big budget? For example if Mcinnes maybe wanted too much then surely we could still get someone like Robinson in instead?
