Good post, if anyone criticises PW on here they are labelled a PW hater, how stupid. He did a wonderful job for us but I agree with you the way he left and ripped out all the coaching staff on the same day when our next game was a critical one shows someone that was only thinking of himself. That is fine but can we stop putting him forward to be made a saint, a good league 1 manager but he failed in all 3 championship attempts. He did build a wonderful team spirit and he deserves a lot of credit for that. He is very unlikely to get Derby automatically promoted this year, the playoffs are his best bet for that, if he does we will see how good a championship manager he is when he has a much bigger budget, perhaps his 3 failed attempts were down to budget or perhaps they were down to him, only time will tell us that. We cannot sack MT no matter what happens this season, he should be judged on how next season goes and I am sure he knows that. I do agree that the board have to decide what they want us to be and be honest with the fans, promising us that lessons have been learned and investment will be made and then not replacing any players that leave and not strengthening is not meeting those promises, I can cope with the yo-yo part and the everything else, but as a fan I think we are entitled to some honesty. Every time people push for investment they are slagged off as being unrealistic and that anyone we sign will be another Blackstock or that nobody will ever want to play for Rotherham United blah, blah blah all excuses to cover the facts that we do not make every effort to try to help the last manager and this stay in this league. There are players out there that want to play football and realise that sat at home on a Saturday is not good for them, other ex-players tell them how hard it is when your career is over, we have a recruitment team whose full time job is to seek out a few of those players and to get them through the door within the operating model of our club, if they cannot do that job, then get someone that can. Losing players for naff all is not good business, yet we seem slow on getting players with potential to be sold on, offers early enough in the contract cycle, that is poor business management, under valuing your assets and failing to get a return on them. For me I would shake the hand of TS and thank him for ensuring we have a club, but then I would ask him not to mislead us, to be open with us and to address the issues around player recruitment and contract management.

Derby still had back room staff so was no need for Warro and Hammy to leave same time, could’ve helped us until Taylor got his in.

I saw Warney in December and I would not give him time of day again is all I’m going to say.

I don't believe it's the criticism that's the problem it's how they/you criticise that's the problem.
It's the fact their/your opinion is posted as fact when it's just an opinion. You need to chillax derby and except your, mine and others opinion are just as valid as the next person.
unless you/me/they are arguing that black is white just for the sake of it then imo you ignore the posts. It's a new year. Were all millers (even the ones who think they are not). Enjoy or rollercoaster in the championship. We will survive

I bet he’s devastated.

Given the obvious constraints of managing RUFC in the championship it is very, very difficult to keep us up without a very specific plan and understanding of the club.
Paul Warne had this and I believe he would have kept us up this year, thi gs were looking very positive when he left.
Which makes the timing of his leaving all the more strange, I suspect he thought maybe he had done all he could, and this opportunity came up,and he thought it might not happen again, who knows.
The team carried on doing well when Taylor came in,some good performances against top teams,but since has chance to look at the squad properly we've been sh*t !
Whatever happens he must stay until the end of the season, then reassess where we go then.

I don’t think people post their opinions as facts it is you that infers that from the post, everything I post is just my opinion, there that should stop you saying I do otherwise. You assume I need to chill out, I am very relaxed and chilled thank you, it is impossible for you to know how I feel unless I tell you, so keep your evaluations of my feelings to yourself please. As for saying the way I criticise PW is an issue, please tell me in what way have I criticised him since he left us that you find inappropriate? Also provide the rationale for why it is in appropriate in your opinion, I would love to know.

Lastly I have always said all opinions are valid, but as this is a discussion board, I thought it would be ok to discuss matters related to Rotherham United, to raise points for discussion, to ask others for their fees and take part in respectful discourse.
