Luke Williams to Portsmouth?

LW has been at numerous clubs and spoke passionately and at length about how so many of them have no idea what they are doing, lurching from one disaster to the next with no strategy….sounds familiar.

Going to Portsmouth now would be difficult. I doubt the Cowley brothers have instilled a style of play or have many players of the ilk that LW would consider ‘his’ type of player. He would effectively have to rebuild the side and style of play all whilst having to live with the expectations of getting promotion…a massive ask…and it isn’t inconceivable that if it doesn’t start right he could be without a job and his reputation tarnished before the seasons end.

He isn’t going to Portsmouth.

Well he’s only got to look at Graeme Potter, a guy with a really good CV and reputation as a talented coach, results aren’t coming and he’s already under pressure. I agree about the Cowleys, it would be a rebuild and that’s 12 months at least whilst having to get results. I get that they're a couple of leagues above and will pay a bit more, but I’m sure Notts could narrow that gap and he has everything he wants at Notts.

Why would he grill him? Some betting odds being touted and speculation.

He might ask him what he thinks of the speculation. I can guarantee it will be the same as any other managers response. ‘It’s speculation, I haven’t spoken to anyone, I’m committed, I’m flattered’.

No I meant Charlie or whoever does the interview on radio Nottingham.

Ahhh Fat Sam, Grand Slam. Yeah I remember a lot of anger when he suddenly left and moved up the leagues.

We were on the up when he did that. You could say never recovered. If I remember right we were top div1 & sank to a degree after that
