Galloway didn’t last long in Rochdale.. Good riddance
I did find it funny, or hypocritical, that Jess Phillips got heckled by supporters of the workers party when she was delivering her speech.
The party that supported multiculturalism feeling the consequences of their actions and they don’t like it. Correct it wasn’t called for but I’ve no sympathy for her.
Whatever your views, and they’re welcome here, we now have a Labour Government. We need to give them a few months to see what their intentions are and what they’re able to achieve. From what I’ve seen already this morning though, expect much sniping and bile from the sidelines. In the lead-up to today it was apparent that the loudest noises were coming from those with either the most to lose or with the lowest chances of success. Some campaigns were extremely personal, but unfortunately that was to be expected and you need broad shoulders to stand for Parliament, more so if you seek higher office. That should end now.
I’m personally content that we now have a PM - and his wife - who know what it takes to hold down a job and become successful that way. I wish them all success. Time will tell.
