I'd be disappointed to see Macca leave, but... I also think his success has been as much a product of the team, rather than it being completely about him as an individual. With the quality and quantity of chances created, I'd be confident someone else can achieve similar.

I have massive doubts about the validity of these claims but even so, let's take the rose tinted specs off. How many big games did he score in? Many of the bigger teams asked when he'd turn up, play offs last year he was anonymous, many big games last season he was anonymous, scored lots of goals against weaker opposition though. £700k on a 27 year old striker who needs to play in a certain way to get a tune from him is a steal really. If it's Millwall, they're wasting their money unless they change their entire style of play so let's spend the money elsewhere. We got Jatta for £150k and he was rocking at 1 in 2 at the end of the season in a misfiring team

And how many of those were big games. I'd argue three? All in the national league, Wrexham at home and Chesterfield home and away. Last season he was a bit of a flat track bully. Stockport were already 4-0 up before he scored. His goals are useful but we have strikers that can score against the standard sides, we need someone to score and win games against those challenging at the topQuote:
