I enclose details of the latest fiasco concerning Calmac ferries which should be of interest to you having previously posted that you have travelled to the island of Mull by a Calmac ferry. https://mullandionaferrycommittee.or...ed-to-just-45/
If this fiasco is not resolved by the busy Easter 2025 weekend the Lochaline to Finnish sailings to Mull will be extremely busy.
If this problem with the Isle of Mull ferry had happened with the MV Finlaggan ferry sailing on the Kennacraig to Islay route the members of the Islay Ferry Committee would have nothing about it until it was far too late to do anything about it.
The members of the Islay Ferry Committee are only interested in ensuring that HGVs belonging to B Mundell Limited and cattle floats transporting sheep and cattle from Islay after auctions are able to sail on the ferry. They have no interest in anyone else which has been proved by the Co-op lorry and the vehicle bringing medicines to Islay being left on the pier at Kennacraig when B Mundell Limited used his block bookings to send five empty HGV road tankers on the MV Finlaggan.
There had been about 14 cancelled sailings at the beginning of last July due to one of the skippers being frightened to sail in moderately windy weather because Port Askaig pier was closed leaving only Port Ellen pier available for use.
