Langstaff Gone to Millwall

Good point but who would you have in mind to score those important goals against the top teams ?
What most people seem to overlook , is the off the ball running , pressing and challenges that is a huge part of Langstaff's game.
There's far more value in a good striker , than lurking and hoping for a little good fortune.
With regards to promising strikers with potential and carrying on the Gateshead connection then Dejaune Browne would be well worth a look as a loan signing.
Young , strong , good control and plenty of pace with10 NL goals for the Heed last campaign whilst on loan from Derby County.
I've seen him play a few times and he looks a player.

Why not trust in Scott and Jatta? Scott has had a torrid time with injuries but at Gateshead he scored heavily and at times in the NL season before injury made his season stutter he was scoring at a faster rate than Langstaff on a goals per minute stat.

I think our strength lies in our creativity ,i personally think we have strikers who can finish things,but i could be totally wrong ,Scott has done nothing wrong as a striker,Jatta we dont know but his strike rate was ok,Didsy,dont rule him out yet ,its down to opinions ,but i think we can replace Macca internally

You've pretty much answered your own question, Scott has had a torrid time with injuries. Not only that we have no idea how or if he will handle the step up. As we saw last season plenty of players struggled to step up. It would be a huge risk not to sign a proven replacement, given the aim has to be top 3 imo. I'm not saying you're doing this but, i think we will miss Langstaff far more than some want to admit.

Did I say that? I said we're getting a very good deal on a 27 year old who, whilst scores a lot of goals, doesn't perhaps score them in key games. He's not going to come across many defences as bad as Doncaster (at the time) and Morecambe in the championship is he? Let them spend that money, we can spend it on other players or keep JJ who I think is way more important to the team and keep going

If and its a big if,we have things sorted defensively ,we will not need to score as many goals

But how many goals were in important games? That's when you want them to turn up. Getting a hat trick against the dog and duck is great to pad the stats but how many goals in the play offs did he scored for example? How many goals did he scored against teams who at the time when we played were in the playoffs for example? Yes, he's a good goal scorer, but let's look at who he scored against.

Correct but when chances come you'd want Langstaff on the end of them.

I dont blame him its his career but no fan wants him to go.
