Probably realised that promotion was a pipe dream, after allowing our better players to leave the club, and be replaced by inexperienced youngsters. You can con people some of the time, but others can see thru the waffle.

I realise that i maybe overacting but am i alone in feeling slightly concerned about the future.Ok we had the 12th highest budget but the second highest crowd average. The nest seems to be a cash cow do do the paddle courts .The pitch has the potential to hold events. The future income of the clud is very important but could it be that in the short term the playing side may have to take second place.I just feel that this may be the case.
They haven’t this season but RM and Palmer said we were in our first season back at a fans forum.
As for the season gone it’s hard to say we know we aren’t in the top 3 spenders but you don’t have to be if you recruit we’ll Walsall finished 4th and I’d imagine their budget isn’t that high.
I don?t think they said last season when I asked in the fans forum didn?t someone say we were about 10th and they just laughed?
We know there?s a few that have spent a bit, one got relegated but you don?t sack a manager coming 6th saying the team didn?t reach their expectations when you have the 12th best budget, if I was to guess I?d say it was 8th/9th.
When Luke Williams was manager he sat with the smug RM and Palmer somebody said “Sky said we have 10th best budget or something like that they laughed and sure Palmer mumbled about 12th”
I have no idea what was said last season fans forum I didn’t see/hear it but I’d guess it was higher than 12th as you say last season.
The word Palmer used last winter was that we had a “competitive” budget, but definitely not one of the highest. It sounded like there were three or four clubs with very big budgets, then the next group had similar budgets - which included us. I seem to recall him expressing surprise at quite how high some of the rival budgets were.
Budget size is irrelevant at the business end of the season. We could have got auto if the Bros had wanted it enough so let's stop kidding ourselves.
All I have to say is Rob Sreet, Doncaster!!
Yet Rob Street is the kind of signing who would have been vilified here, had we signed him when Donny did. He'd just come off a previous loan spell with Cheltenham where he'd scored something like 2 in 20. And a year with Shrewsbury before that scoring 4 in 40.
Street played well against us, but I think Jatta scored about as many goals this season as Street has in the last 5 seasons.
