Im only interested in how backwards we are going with his tactics and playing players who don't deserve to be in the team . If thinking in the short term then you can argue that but if thinking overall and the bigger picture then no we haven't gone backwards, we've gained promotion and will likely consolidate again for a third season in top fight while improving the financial situation and cutting the stupid wage bills left from prior regime and also having a younger age profile, plenty to work with going forward
I had these year down as a topsy turvy year with the number of players we brought in at the start of the season. It was obvious that we would have some success stories and some horror stories. My big issue is that we are playing a system that doesn't work and when we have had the opportunity to change it or get the players in to make it work...we haven't done so. I just can't put my finger in whether JG thinks we have the adequate players or if the owner doesn't want to back the manager any further than he has. Either way....we need a change of direction for next season, because this is an entertainment industry and right now.....we are paying to not be entertained...on a dreadful stage...without any clear plan and not many positives! We really need something to give us a bit of optimism.
The pitch looks like the Germania battlefield at the start of Gladiator, you could just see russell crowe amidst the carnage of utd v st mirren Tuesday, bodies flying all over the place, standing in the muddy centre circle with a wry smile shouting 'are you not entertained'Quote:

Spurs have had a crippling injury list for the last 2 seasons so that is the main reason. When they played the Gooners a couple of weeks ago there were in my opinion only 2 of the starting 11 that would have started(Vicario and Van de Ven)had there been a full squad to pick from. Kulusevski and Maddison not played all season and mostly young uns from the u21s and u18s on the bench to try and make subs from so that's massive but the performances haven't been good enough and 100% lack the fight to stay up🫣Quote:

Could be! The Spurs team that could be made up from their injured (bad luck) and their suspended (self inflicted) players over the season with at times 13/14 first team squad out tbf wouldn't be where they are. The supposed financial fair play rules mean they can't just throw more and more money at it where their 'stars' are out long term. Man City seem to be able to walk all over financial fair play rules though!Quote:
