There was a cup fever gripping the town before the Partick game and I remember badges and QoS rosettes aplenty outside the ground . This was one of the only two games I went to with my dad and remember vividly the very big Thistle support. Gerry Phillips scored our consolation and ( I think) the official crowd was about 8,000. This would beat the 7,000 crowd that were at Palmerston in 83-84 to see Rangers beat Queens 4-1 in the League Cup.
