The other side of that issue is that the old man may struggle to stand for long periods and didn't pay good money to view the back of someone head.
Safe standing should be brought back, he could then say - if you want to stand go and stand over there.

Totally agree Heman. I'm a miserable old sod too but I wasn't at Preston lat night so not guilty this time.
I have dodgy knees. Once I'm stood I'm fine and once I'm sat I'm fine, it's the up and down bit I struggle with. It is bloody annoying when someone just decides to spring up leaving me to stare at someone's back when something exciting is happening on the pitch.
Bri you might want to show a little more consideration to your fellow supporters and perhaps pass this on to your son.

It's strange but I find that I can cheer the team on whilst being sat down. Perhaps it's something that comes with age.
Talking about standing, who else thinks the song 'stand up if you love rovrum' is totally ridiculous. Off course we love them or we wouldn't be there.
I don't think Bri's gripe is with an old fella who may not be able to stand up for long periods of time, more the way he made the request perhaps.
