Derby v Forest - The Build Up Begins

and so it begins my fellow sheep and tree huggers. Both teams bang out of form and desperate for a win. so what will be the key talking points in the build up?

The first thing to say is that I think from a purely footballing perspective it's more important to forest than it is to derby. after burnley have been rampant we know that we just need to stay top 6, which we should be able to do. forest on the other hand are really being battered with pressure from wigan, reading and brighton. if forest lose they know they will likely drop out of the top 6. if we lose we'll still be comfortably in the play offs.

for that reason the pressure will be on forest. seen as we haven't scored for 4 games it's fair to say we'll have some pressure though.

next, key players are out for both sides. the pie eater makes forest tick and will be a huge miss if he doesn't play. similarly, Eustace has been a key cog in our side and will be suspended. I'm sure all derby fans are praying ewsie is fit too. pro

I'm also going for the draw. Like you say rapid we have both hit a bad patch of form and I think we will both be very nervous in the early stages. But think it will end up 1-1 Bamford for us. ( it's written in the stars ) and cox for them. Don't think it will be a classic either. I've heard baggy eyed bill wants to sit in the stands as he's scared of another attack :s

Not sure we're in that bad form to be honest. Just not scoring, I'm certain the floodgates will open again soon, hopefully Saturday.

It's effectively a cup tie.
Live on TV. High tension.
The team that is able to treat it as just another game and does a professional job is the team that will triumph.
I don't usually fancy us in this fixture but this time I just have a hunch that the goal drought might come to a quick end.
The ref will be key.

BD will come and try and execute his text book score and defend performance. If we score early I think their heads will drop. Hard game to call given the respective forms.

Does the same rivalry still exist on this?

There are not that many still going from the 70s/80s that remember the intensity then and speaking to younger fans they just dilike them ... well because they are our rivals ... and many dont have a reason behind it like we used to.

I think Ramondo said last season at home how flat it was with both sets of fans. And many said away it was a bit like after the lord majors show away after the ten man game.

Fester used to be big rivals in the 80s/90s but now that has disappeared too!

Its always goin to be a game of interest but is it what it was?
