Just heard this too, Shellshocked. RIP
NOT Robbie Williams (singer)
but
Robin Williams (actor)
Still a shock though. :blue:
I was upset when I discovered it was not Robbie but Robin………...
I hope you are not saying in a roundabout way that you would be pleased if Robbie were to die. :?
Bad Lancer!
RIP Sir Robin. NANO NANO.
I'm not sure how you could get one of the finest comedy actors around confused with a **** from Take That.
So sad that he took his own life when he always seemed to be so happy.
Like a lot of comedians it appears there was great unhappiness off-stage.
Tony Hancock, Tommy Cooper, Lenny Bruce, John Belushi, Richard Pryor, Jerry Sadowitz, Rob Newman- just some who battled their demons. A very difficult profession.
But Corkster...I am tempted to say that those you mention were the exception rather than the rule.
There were and are friggin hundreds of the buggers about then and now, none of which appear to have a tendency toward suicide.
Actually, what is the definition of a comedian ?
I never regarded Hancock as a comedian, more a comic actor...he could never do stand up
My eldest does stand-up and he is as happy as Larry most of the time. However, watching him grow up he developed his comedy as a defence mechanism against certain issues he had. Not saying it is every comedian but there is a long list of those who struggled in their normal lives. They're a funny bunch. ;)
