re: is motivation an issue?
It's the same GB and virtually the same team that went on the 11 game unbeaten run at the end of last season. And it's the same set up. At that time it was looking promising, (a few points dropped, Bournmouth and Yeovil spring to mind), but aside from that, it was all the same and we were all quite happy. The simple fact here is results. Our defence is a mess, (and it really shouldn't be). Too much of an enforced change from last season. This is where a leader on the pitch is *****. As far as midfield goes, great going forward, but that's it. So the only way this team can defend is to attack, and they aren't doing that enough this season.
re: is motivation an issue?
Do we really want another season of 2steps forward and 2 back we will end up missing out on a play off place again and with this squad that is simply not good enough.
re: is motivation an issue?
Still early days imo and as things are now, we can only get better we need gestede back to have any chance of attacking teams, the way the team was set out yesterday imo was a recipe for disaster 4-5-1 I would summise was GB's way of trying for a point against a very strong Wolves side. :blue:

Not really, no. But it looks like that's what's on offer at the present time.

Pat - I'm not a fan of 4-5-1 either, but GB is probably acknowledging that our defence still looks shaky, and trying to compensate for that by strengthening the midfield. My friend who went to the match said the tactic didn't work because Wolves' quick counter-attacks caught us out, and individuals made errors.
He said Rovers looked like the home team at times in terms of pressure and possession, but always appeared vulnerable when an attack broke down.
On the more general point, I think it's too early to be calling for Bowyer's head. The Championship usually comes down to a couple of teams looking out of their depth and a couple demonstrati

No.
Had that game been at Ewood we'd have won it. Thats the type of league we're in. The away fixtures (apart from Blackpool) have been against the sides at the top.
Every side sat at the top, have played 3 home games. They all have had an advantage. We have been v unlucky again with key injuries to key players at key times. Our in form LB missed the game due to a family bereavment. The other is injured. Meaning we had to play our 3rd choice RB. And our striker was out.
That not motivation, its football.
The main problem is our captain. He is a big lump tok slow to stop anytning, or read a game. We could do with hom getting injured, so this Duffy can play alongside Baptiste.

might as well back bowyer to come good, as who knows what the alternative would be..? it could even mean shebby pokes his nose back in. has it ever been officially announced that he`s no longer our global advisor..?

My concern exactely. I would swap him for a manager such as Pullis. But if there is one thing Venky's seem hell bent on doing, it's 'discovering' an up and comming manager, so far Bowyer has been the best of a bad bunch, (and by quite some margin at that).

It would be nice to be in a position where we could 'pick and choose', but unfortunately we have not been so for some 3+ yrs or so. Strangely coinciding with the arrival of our current owners.
I reckon initially our stock may have risen a tad on the back of their ambitious 'rantings'.
But since then, oh dear!
The halcyon days in the afterglow of Prem. winners, long stayers is now but a increasingly distant memory.
But as Champs points out (regularly ;D ), we were fortunate in the grossly extreme in being JW's 'pet project'.
It's high ti
