Could this be the sign that Venkys are getting their house in order before Ditching BRFC.

My main concern Alf, is it going to be their way of cutting their losses using the FFP transfer embargo to re-coup what they can and leave us high & dry. :s

I think everybody knows my feelings on the ridiculous ffp venkys will more than likely go for the fire sale if it goes ahead

This new rule on financial stability or else is the nails in the coffin for town teams and the death of competition
The top 6 in the prem will be decided before a ball is kicked and no chance of a unfashionable scruff of a team like us having a local hero pump money in to give us glory and bloody the big dogs noses
This was a rule purely to keep the big teams big and the small insignificant teams just that.
When that rule comes into force it will be a very sad day for football as it will spell the end of the magic of the maybe just maybe one day my Accrington or my rochdale can win the premier league

While your final line throws up many romantic notions Robin. There was absolutely nothing small about BRFC in 94 when they broke the british transfer record for Chris Sutton. That was the 2nd time in 12months we had done that. And we started this radiculous inflated wage thats now ruined the game) by paying him £10k a week. Doubelling the next best wage in the league. Not only was it way above that small town teams means, the money we spent was a rich mans, not earnt by us doing well or being successful leading up to that. Its not our fault, but we so happened to be enjoying the riches at a very advantagous time. And have a league title to show. But really, can we now bemoan how unfair it all is, when we kicked it all off?
champs...I really dont think we kicked it all off, presidents have been set amongst quite a few football clubs, regarding transfer fees/wages, it was a lovely ride using Jacks money at the time, we were no different than say for example (notts forest) who splashed out 1 mil on Trevor Francis to break all time record for most expensive player, that was some 15 yrs previous to Sutton.
Forest winning the European Cup or us winning the Premier League is how it pans out in football it dosent mean we started this inflated wage structure just because we wanted success.

My point was how can this rule be fair when some get more sky/bt coverage than others thus more money it was no way an envious glance at the big dogs as we have been there
Just seems a massive shame that no other small team will ever get the chance to win the top prize in English football
Now to some this rule will ensure that teams stay financially prudent I am not so sure
You have to get rid of players to free the dept however in doing so you make yourself weaker so you drop through the league's which means less tv coverage and smaller crowd's so what then??? Sell the ground?training facilities?something has to give I truly believe this rule was made with the best intentions in mind I just cannot see it has been thought through.
