Public rip off
Petition launched to force government to look into Hammers move
A petition has been launched to force the government to hold a public inquiry into West Ham’s deal to rent the Olympic Stadium. West Ham have only contributed round £15 million towards the £272m costs of converting the stadium for football use, while the rest of the bill comes from the taxpayer. The petition argues that not only is this unfair to taxpayers, but it also damages competition between clubs. West Ham will keep the proceeds from the sale of their current ground and pay £2.5m in rent per year on the Olympic Stadium, while public money will be used to cover stadium costs such as utilities, security and pitch maintenance.

re: Public rip off
West Ham offered to pay £100 Million towards the construction of that stadium in 2008 to make it a future stadium of hosting football for West Ham And athletics and rugby.
Seb Coe's lot turned the offer down.
So blame them.
