Sponsored Cycle to Amsterdam for Prostate Cancer UK
Hi All,
I believe this could very well be my first post! I've been a member for god knows how long looking at the forums daily but i've never actually made any posts. Please if you may, take time to read the below and any donations would be greatly appreciated. You may catch us outside the New York Stadium in a month or so with buckets too.
Me and my dad are going to be cycling from Oakwell Stadium to the Amsterdam Arena in June next year in order to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. It will be a total of around 150 miles over 2 days with around 500 other football fans from around the UK. We are obviously cycling as Rotherham fans and I believe 2 other Rotherham fans are taking part but we are yet to find out who these are.
My family over the last 7 years have been hit by cancer of various types. My sister was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2009 aged 12 where thankfully the treatment was successful and has now been given the all clear. My auntie had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and again thankfully, treatment was successful. My grandad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2012, which after a year of battling, sadly cost him his life. In May 2015, my dad also had a scare with an enlarged prostrate, luckily after surgery was found not to be cancerous.
So due to all the help and support we all received through the tough times, helping cancer charities is high on my to do list so me and my dad are taking part in this event to raise money to go towards cancer research.
We have set out to raise £1000 each for Prostate Cancer UK so any donations towards reaching that target will be greatly appreciated! This can be done either through JustGiving (see below).
