Don't you think that's just common sense, given that he's only just getting back to fitness and hasn't completed a full 90minutes yet?
Don't get me wrong, i think, if fit, it's a no brainer to sign him, just think the club is being cautious.

If the option to extend say expires June 1st then what's the rush? He's coming off what was a serious injury so it's prudent to at least see it doesnt recur between now and when the option expires.

Camp lost interest at Birmingham away - he'll never play for us again and probably get a coaching role soon.
JCH is all about potential. Sadly he needs to show alot before any contract - he has no track record and appears to be all physical attributes but physical without a bit of nouse is not good.....ok perhaps in league one. Club right to keep the powder dry over that one.....no one is sniffing around for him I guess.
Plenty of time to see how he plays this season....
