O/T - passing of another Miller
I've read this forum most days for the last number of years without posting, however, I thought this might be the easiest way to reach out to many folk. My step dad, Gordon Beardsley, sadly passed away on 30th April. He worked on Security at the Parkgate steel works (both gate entrances) in the mid to late 1990's. I often used to see him talk to guys he worked with, or used to stop on the gate at the steel works, yet I never really spoke to them myself. It was Gord who took me to my first match at Millmoor in 1987, when we moved into the area, and he's the reason I'm a Miller.
It's been an incredibly hard time, as you can imagine, especially attending last match of the season without him. If anybody knew him and would like to attend his funeral, it's at Rotherham Crematorium on Thursday 24th May at 9:30am.
Once a Miller, always a Miller.
