Poor standards in the Premiership of biased decisions by officials on/off the fiefd

It does seem that the standard of refereeing in the Prem has deteriorated year on year particularly to the detriment of the lower teams but in favour of the official's darlings at the top of the table.

Even the protests and complaints of the top teams get sympathy from the officials both on and off the pitch. Something seriously needs to be done to make this a level playing field. :?

I've always had a theory that one of the main reasons a lot of people are pushing for VAR to not come in are the same people who want the big clubs to do well. If you think about some of the decisions that go their way that wouldn't happen with VAR lower league teams will get a lot more decisions and points from VAR and big teams wont be "helped" out by wrong decisions by officials.

Just think of the amount of draws/3 points big clubs have so often WRONGFULLY robbed from teams!! It's quite shocking or the BLATANT mistakes Referees tend to miss or ignore or players diving like they have been shot with no contact to win a penalty which wins them the game...

What i thought was more disgusting than anything last night is when it went back to the studio and Carragher was basically saying it only looks like a foul in slow motion. You know the slow motion tool they use to analyse every single fu(king decision in every game. But when it's used on us it's basically deemed unworthy and if it's watched in real speed it doesn't look like a foul. What the actual Fu(k seriously. Fu(king stupid Scouse pr1ck. THATS WHAT SLOW MOTION IS USED FOR. To see if a decision given in real time was correct. You then slow it down and decide. When ours was slowed down it showed a blatant foul but that was some how irrelevant because it was in slow motion. If VAR was being used they would use slow motion to decide so I just don't get that bul1**** that came out of his mouth.

It does seem as though sometimes Jamie Carragher thinks in slow motion when it's not Puddlepool he's talking about.

Yesterady was one and then you see decisions like the handball off the wall in the box at Man U. I mean, FFS. The problem is that they are making a pig´s ear of introducing VAR (perhaps on purpose?). I have a solution: JUST COPY RUGBY UNION.

The ref does not need to leave the pitch.
You can restrict the intervention to certain parts of the game e.g. legality of a goal, penalty appeals and foul play only.
The ref in the stands can call down to the pitch ref if something blatant has been missed.

Show it on the big screen, get the crowd involved and it adds to the match experience.

The only draw back is that it will be fair for all teams................

Much as it angered us, not everybody thought their equaliser was a foul....


So VAR may well have allowed the goal.

All officials in sport are prone to make mistakes. Only human.

Personally, I think the FA don't want it as it will show their 'top referees and assistants' up as completely and utterly useless.

Let's face it, if a linesman can't give a throw anymore unless the referree indicates which way to point his flag, what hope is there for them.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Mike Dean being found out.

If you look at Zipp's pic in post 59 on the match thread you will see our goalie at full stretch and Soly is a good 6" higher because he has levered himself up on Dubravka's shoulder with his knee into the goalies back. Totally conclusive to me.

It is not me you need to convince.

Mark Halsey stated today there was nothing wrong with the challenge.

Spot on mate,the refereeing is all geared up to the top six teams.. The lower teams very very rarely get a decision going their way against a top six side.. The number of times Burnley have been shafted by the refs and linos against the top six teams are unbelievable.. Even though I'm a Clarets fan and you dropped two points ,which was good for us,I Thought you got definitely shafted last night..
