Corner kicks

What's this latest fad for placing the ball on the outer outer edge away from the corner flag?

Linemen checking to make sure the edge of the ball is deemed to touch the arc.

Now, back in the day, on certain amateur pitches anyway, all four corners ( and both penalty spots) were like giant kypies, so you could see the point in moving the ball ( although certain refs wouldn't allow it) but now?

Even if it was to move the ball away from a worn area it makes no sense, the least worn area is where the bloody ball should be in the first place.

Its because they believe those 3 cm closer to the goal gives them a massive advantage

I thought when I saw this thread that someone was saying why the flock do we not put a player on each post. I like us leaving players up but I would far prefer we didn't concede. But that is old fitba and so obviously won't work anymore...
On the subject of the ball spotting, it beggars belief that a couple of inches could be perceived to make a difference. Beat the first man would be a start and you don't need 2 folk to take a corner. Defenders and the goalie aren't bothered whether it's an inswinger or outswinger or whether it's played from dead at the corner or a yard further out. Too busy trying to block/pull/get in the way of forwards to bother about the ba. Rant over

Maybe it helps them skirl in a higher pitched voice as they fall over.

Just like putting your hand in the air as you take a corner, unless there’s a subliminal element to it!

You’re wrong there.
Putting your hand in the air before you take a corner is a signal to your players not to bother trying too hard because you’re not going to get the ball past the first defender.
