Scotland women's captain wants the same money for playing for Scotland that the men's captain gets.
Right enough though, she plays at the same level as Andy Robertson and attracts the same support.
Completely deluded.
Argument could be made for same fee.....though I don't think they are actually employed by sfa so mibbe no.
But training, Hampden an that surely up to SFA.
If I was in charge at sfa I would just disband international wifeys team and save themselves a lot of current and future hassle.
Players union probably object.
As I've said not much of a fan of international football but I do think if you are gonna give up time and possibly run risk of career ending injury there should be some sorta renumeration.
Now I don't feel that Scottish so maybe just me but if my left foot could potentially earn me tens of millions over a career wud i put it at risk to represent Scotland with no renumeration? .........no sure.
Then again I suppose what little renumeration they get makes little difference.
Anybody know how you are compensated if you get career ending injury on international duty?
Little renumeration as in money they are used to earning ......prob still a lot to us mere mortals
Be funny if dabs wifeys started demanding 5k to 7k per week........maybe clubs shud think on before establishing wifeys teams.
I agree. The Scottish women’s football team hardly packs out Hampden Park when they play international matches.
You will remember that about ten years ago we had the same problem with some ‘pushy’ women professional golfers who thought that they were as good as the top male professional golfers and they wanted to play in the top Men’s professional golf tournament.
Michele Wie and Annaka Sorenstam were two of the women professional golfers who played in a couple of the male professional golf tournaments.
The women professional golfers did not make the cut after the end of the first two rounds as they were hopelessly out of their depth and since then the women professional golfers only play in their own golf tournaments.
