That other, other board

Strange board that buzz board that Mansfield has started. It’s on Proboards which is OK as a number of Clubs use it as their main board. Poor start though. A lot of accounts are spoofs of existing usernames on TheCumbrians.net including Barry, Mullen and now me. Admin seem aware and it helps the numbers I suppose, though it’s strange and vaguely amusing.

It’s a bit sad that Piglet, an hour or two before Christmas when most folks were persuading the kids/grandkids to bed (and in Canada would have other family things to do) chose to sit at a computer trying to pinch my username. What a sad and lonely individual. He soon found that it already belongs to me as I’m a contributor on other message boards on the Proboards platform and registered Griff a long time ago. So he used another name including griff to declare that this board is closing then - narcissist that he is - answered himself. Can I refer you back to the sad and lonely comment above? What a f­ucking loser.

It’s why I said on the other board I’ll be downing tools and not posting on another board apart from this one.

Fair play for Mansfield for setting it up but some arsehole(s) spoil it with the spoof accounts. The Reddit one won’t take off because of piggy and spoof accounts.

I had a look at Reddit but it’s a horrible looking social media site with childish avatars so it’s not for me. If folk want to come here they’ll be very welcome, just as you always have been Richard, I just hope that they’ve got the message that it can take up to a week to set up an account here so they should be starting NOW.

Since this board had a hiatus which led to the formation of thecumbrians.net it has had no technical problems whatsoever. Ironically thecumbrians.net has regularly been plagued with problems.

The best all-round board for Carlisle United supporters is this one. A few people are performing numerous contortions in order to persuade the denizens of the late thecumbrians.net to join boards that are either inferior or are in isolation.

This board has the virtue of being part of a strong network, supported by a robust company. This enables easy banter between supporters of various clubs. One or two denizens of thecumbrians.net have criticized FootMad because it has a more than adequate amount of adverts on it. Thecumbrians.net has only ever had one advert on it. This shows that FootyMad is popular. There are few businesses that would advertise on a single isolated board. Anyone with the minimum amount of common sense knows how to prevent any adverts appearing. I have not seen any adverts on here for at least 10 years.

FootyMad is in the big time for a very long time.

So Tim has established his own board - I think I will give that a miss.

In fact it is a lot more sound than the pound.

I did prefer Cumbrians.net because it was popular, but with it closing there’s no reason this can’t take off again.

People may have their old logins for here and as said there’s sad individuals spoofing accounts on new boards.

Always felt welcome as I did on Cumbrians. It’s a shame the other is closing as tbf dan and mouldy have done a good job. Hopefully Griff will be busier as people flock here.

I had a quick look at Buzz Board and my first impressions are favourable. However, I will not be active as Tim will continue to be a dickhead.

I’ve had to edit one post already to remove a passage containing an unsavoury implication. Let’s try and be civilised(ish) and exercise common sense with our posts. A bit of banter is fine, but I won’t hesitate to step in where things get too personal.

Edit: I’ve had to take further action by deleting two posts today containing unfounded allegations of an individual being a child abuser. The next such post will be met with a ban. I have to say I’m frustrated at such ‘discussion’ taking place on here, especially so early in the board’s existence.

Edit 2: The individual who made the aforementioned posts has continued in the same fashion. His account and IP have been banned indefinitely, and his account deleted. Please, play nice. As I say, 'banter' is fine, and disagreements are part of life on an internet message board. But outright abuse of the kind referenced is simply not welcome here. Play nice
