Me and the missus took two of our grandkids there during Saturday, still a fab place to have a day out for youngsters.
Easy to get to and good parking.
An easy place to overlook if you live within our patch but still well worth a visit if you have youngsters.

My wife isn't a fan, she prefers Bridgnorth, Ironbridge and Kinver, but I have very happy memories of Stourport with family on Sundays in the sixties. There was sometimes a large fair on the big green, a childrens corner, and a ride on The Queen of the Severn. A kick about with the ball, tea on the grass by the car, and a stop at the Old Bush on the way home. The Old Bush is now my local, The Hinksford Arms.
Haden Hill Park, Sutton Park, Kinver Edge, Highgate Common, Drayton Manor Park and Alton Towers were other places we went on Sundays. Alton Towers was just the Towers and gardens then.
My favourite place is Kinver Village and Kinver Edge, so many memories none of them bad.
If you climb the hill behind us you can see Kinver Edge.
Until 1970 Stourport had it's own railway station. A line that ran from Bewdley on the SVR.
Imagine the tourists it would attract today if the SVR ran from Bridgnorth to Stourport, or even Ironbridge. I always thought that the most picturesque part of the SVR was through Bridgnorth tunnel to Ironbridge.

Stourport even had its own power station but only produced electricity for about 50 years I remember looking round the abandoned building and site in the late 80s before demolitionQuote:
