Anti England Desicion?

Not condoning James action but the stamp, in my opinion was not hard, it probably did not leave an inprint of studs.

I wonder if the banning of her for two games displays an anti English mind set of FIFA. Maybe I am biased however, I thought the sending off was the right decision but to increase the ban to two games is extreme and shows a FIFA bias.

I think a 2 card ban is probably right. I think a violent incident may incur a 3+ match ban, but the incident is clearly intentional, but maybe not overly violent.

The ban was right as it’s violent conduct. She’s lucky it was not three games! Petulant girl who could have lost it for the team.

No sympathy - she will learn hopefully

I thought it was a cowardly and crass act on a defenceless opponent.

It’s a terrible example to set the many children watching the tournament, especially the girls who perhaps are trying to win their non football type parents over.

I thought she got off light, I expected three games.

However you look at this, it’s an act of violence, I’d be disgusted if my two daughters or my son had acted like this on the sporting field.

Two match ban seems a soft punishment.

I bow to the greater honesty of all.

Need to be tougher on intentional actions like this ..if authorities really want to stamp it out....😇

I would disagree with the second part of your post.
Just like Truth....Honesty is not arrived at by a majority vote.....

Dubbag, I was suggesting perhaps I was biased rather than FIFA but fully understand your perspective. As the majority agree with FIFA, I accept I stood alone. Perhaps unsurprisingly. B)

My point really was this. I watched the game live and when it happened I said to the rest watching, ‘she got to be sent off for that.’

The referee issued a yellow, which was later replaced with a red and rightly so. My issue is that it was a deliberate stamp, however, it was not a hard stamp, it was more a token stamp. Even the Jamaican player immediacy twisted her body to shout at the ref. She did not appear in pain, she did not stay on the ground or, I believe require treatment.

It was stupid act on James part. My initial post was questioning whether there was anti English mindset in the decision to increase the ban.

. You are right about anti English-in your post.as in all sports there’s always anti English we English have learnt to live with it but aye F£#C um.(especially the Scot’s.)but in this case think she got off lightly.but she’s not the first and won’t be the last by a country mile.
