I have quite a few times on the forum encouraged members to have a PSA blood
test, to test for possible prostate cancer.
I myself have had a benign prostate diagnosed since May 2011, under Rotherham
General Hospital.
The simple PSA [ Prostate Specific Antigen ] blood teat shows the level of PSA in
the blood, with a safe reading of 4.0 ng/ml & below normal.
I had a Tranrectal biopsy test in 2011, where needles collect a number of tissue
samples, from the prostate gland, the results saying I did not have cancer.
I have PSA blood tests twice a year, my last one in December 2023 showed a reading
of 13.5 ng/ml which brought concern from my GP, but I explained to her that my
readings have been between 9 ng/ml & 14 ng/ml over the years.
In 2020 the consultant at Rotherham General Hospital wanted me to have a MRI scan,
but with covid etc, things did not go to plan.
But I had a MRI scan in 2023 for prostate cancer, my consultant said if they did not
contact me, then I did not have prostate cancer.
But I still have to have my PSA blood tests.
I would recommend all men 50 & above to get in touch with your GP surgery, & ask
for a PSA blood test, 2 minutes it takes, can save your life.
I wish him all the best and hopefully a speedy recovery.
God bless you you sir.
I wish you a speedy recovery your majesty!!
God save the King.
Good luck to him
Been reported since King Charles revealed he had a enlarged prostate, that quite
a few men have visited their GP surgeries to ask for a PSA blood test.
I've just dodged the cancer bullet. Waiting for the results is the killer.
I had 14 bits cut out of my bowels in various procedures. One bit under general anaesthetic was so big it had grown through my bowel and into my muscle. I thought that's fkn it.
All 14 came back clear
I had trouble for 2 years before I got dragged to the hospital, because I was an idiot.
I any of you have troubles FFS see your doc.
I wish him a speedy recovery. But he won't be using the NHS when perhaps he should
