It’s probably the right move for everyone as he would likely be a fringe player the coming season. Actually, this transfer gives me (more) hope that we are intending on investing properly this summer.
Agreed, good luck to him.
Absolutely - good luck to him.
I reckon he'll do brilliant as a regular starting midfielder for Forest.
Wish him all the luck in the world.
This will come back to bite us on the arse, mark my words.
I think that's the local lad thing tbh.
I didn't want to sell him.
But do you really think he's going to go on to be a great player?
The more I watched him, the more I realised I wanted him to be better than he is. And kinda pretended so.
A decent player. He will never win an England cap.
I dunno, man, maybe there's a bit of that in there, aye.
I do think, though, with a regular run of games he's going to turn out to be very good.
Time will tell just how good Anderson can be. Who knows, but we can all agree he was down the pecking order in midfield for us.
I wish him all the best.
A mate of mine said something similar "if he was a Charlton Athletic academy player would be so sad to sell him on?"
Not really, the club are doing what all the fans want. Being Ruthless. Ensuring we keep all our top talent, even when our former Director of Football was actively sharing confidential information to a rival club and intentionally not doing his job/sabotaging player contract renewals.
We're in great shape. It's tough not letting the emotions run away with us. We've been an abused fan base for so long. It's difficult to snap out of that mentality. The Fatso years really did a number on our psychology as fans.
It's all different now. We'll have better players coming in. Of that, I have zero doubts!
Watching him in the pre-season friendlies I thought he was about to burst onto the scene. He didn’t and so it’s OK he’s moved on.
Nothing but good words to say about him though - so best of luck!
Likewise, had he put up even 'Longstaff numbers' in terms of goals and assists it would be a little harder to swallow. It always looked like he would come good and I was happy with him and his progression but he'll do well at Forest.
Going forward, he could well develop into a player capable of being a starter for at top 6 club. Good luck to him indeed.
