Manchester United Information
Not wanting to tell everyone how to suck eggs here and it only really applies for anyone on here who will be travelling to Old Trafford by car .
As I mentioned the other week I took the wife over for United's first home game of the season last month so most of this information is based on my experience that night .
1 , Give yourselves plenty of time getting over there , the motorway is mental all the way , speed restrictions down to 40mph most of the way and it grinds to a halt several times .
2 , The nearer you want to park close to the stadium the more problematic it will be after the game , you might not move for up to an hour .
3 , We came in the Salford way and it wasn't too bad once you left the motorway , surprisingly , it was kicking up 7pm too with only an hour to kick off and wasn't too bad , I'd probably advise everyone to come in to Old Trafford that way .
4 , By coming in this way there's loads of parking provided by workplaces who open their car parks up , it costs you £8 but it's secure and off the road .
5 , However even though you can clearly see the stadium once you've parked up it's further than it looks , a good 20 minute walk but it works in your favour after the game because by the time you get back to the car the traffic is a bit lighter , I do say a little .
6 , Plenty of proper street food outlets as you walk towards the stadium , tons of them although food inside Old Trafford is pretty varied too , not much difference in price either which again was surprising .
7 , Before you get to the turnstiles there are searching stations positioned , a bit like you see inside airports , you'll have to put your phone , keys etc on a tray and walk through the scanner and pick them up once your through .
I can't think of anything else but if I do I'll post it on this thread .
