Expectations for Saturday ?

An emphatic 1-0 will do me ! basically dominating the game but with the score held to one nil with a combination of great rear guard defending & good luck by them and spurned chances from us!! An emphatic 4-0 would be the aim, but would only stir the claim it was only Accrington. A loss ! i cant even begin to Imagine !

Is this a prediction thread Pedro?

I've been trying to guess what SM's Notts is trying to look like, so maybe expectations of how they fare in that regard:

Control: there's definitely potential in this squad to really control all/most of games, but it depends a lot on our midfield and how Accro set up/their pressing game. It's kind of a defining feature of brosNotts, so I expect to see a marked improvement from the Swindon game.

Attack: we've got goals in us, I expect to see some! Also, maybe the stattos will show I'm wrong, but I think we should expect a higher % of completed balls into the box.

Fluidity: an SM feature, but not entirely because LW was pretty fluid, but he seems to want to be very flexible in terms of shape and roamability up front. I expect to see more of the fluid swashbuckling, joyful, expressive footie from the Grimsby game as my hexpection of Stuart.

There is also the possibility we could play poorly but still get a win ? now if that's the case where does that leave us in terms of how good are we really ?

No QP just personal thoughts about how well we expect to play Saturday and thoughts on how this would reflect on how we are doing so far, and what it would suggest our fortunes might be moving forward ? i think i know CBP's already.

a bit like at Swindon, where we were a bit uneven in terms of overall development. At this stage, I'm hoping we tonk em, but I'd be looking at control, attack and fluidity to see how SM's team is hitting SM's goals even if we lose.

Along those lines , but build into the equation we were away , then a gritty hard working, smash and grab win is ok by me. At home to a supposed lowly team, i would hope our fortunes would be much more than a gritty smash and grab win. I will take it but it would still leave many doubters as to how our season is going to pan out !? Are we still finding our feet under SM and the new line up etc etc etc . is the squad paper thin, are we short of a forward as per CBP's concerns. Another good win would be a performance closer at putting these doubts to bed.

I think it will basically depend on Accy set up. They could sit in a low block, go man for man or try and go for it which I’m doubtful they will. If it’s a low block the team and fans will have to be patient as our build ups will be a bit slower and obviously as we’ve seen over the last 3-4 years is if we don’t get that first early it becomes even more frustrating.

I can see them employing a low block to frustrate both the team and the fans so in my view we must move the ball
quicker be incisive with passes through the lines and give our lone striker more support.
